FAQs

Everything you need to know about Cosma, Fertigen™, and your fertility journey.

About Fertigen

What exactly is Fertigen?

+

Fertigen is a CDSCO-approved Class B intravaginal nano-gel, used inside the vagina around the time of ovulation, designed to gently support your body's natural conception process. It is fully non-hormonal.

Is Fertigen a fertility drug?

+

No. Fertigen is a medical device, not a drug. It does not contain hormones, ovulation-induction agents, or any other pharmacologically active ingredient.

Is Fertigen really non-hormonal?

+

Yes. Fertigen is fully non-hormonal. It does not induce, alter, or replace any of your body's natural processes. It works gently and locally, supporting what your body is already doing during your fertile window.

What does the 3-in-1 supportive action mean?

+

Fertigen is designed to gently support three things at the same time during your fertile window:

  • A sperm-friendly vaginal environment.
  • Endometrial receptivity,
  • The natural ovulation window.

All three are supported through a gentle, non-hormonal, locally acting formulation.

Will Fertigen guarantee that I will get pregnant?

+

No, and we do not believe any company should claim that. Fertility outcomes depend on a long list of factors — age, ovulation regularity, sperm parameters, tubal patency, lifestyle, stress and timing among them. Fertigen is designed to gently support one part of that picture.

How do I use Fertigen?

+

Each pack contains eighteen single-use applicators covering three full fertile windows (six per cycle). Insert the contents of one applicator into the vagina approximately 10–15 minutes before intercourse, on the days surrounding ovulation. Detailed instructions are in the Information for Use leaflet inside every pack, and your Cosma fertility specialist will walk you through the protocol during your free consultation.

How many cycles should I use Fertigen for?

+

Fertigen is supplied as a 3-cycle pack — 18 applicators, a doctor consultation and a personalized care plan. We recommend committing to all three cycles before evaluating outcomes, because conception is a probabilistic process and rarely happens on the first try, even in the most fertile couples. Three cycles gives the protocol a fair chance to work. Your Cosma fertility specialist will recommend whether to continue beyond three cycles based on your specific situation.

What does the doctor consultation cover?

+

Every Cosma 3-cycle pack includes a 30-minute consultation with a Cosma fertility specialist. They review your fertility history, your cycle, your test reports (if you have them), and design a personalized care plan — including how to use Fertigen across all three cycles, timing recommendations, and lifestyle guidance.

What is the Cosma Care Plan?

+

The Cosma Care Plan is a personalized written plan you receive after your doctor consultation. It includes your fertile-window calendar, applicator-use schedule, lifestyle recommendations, and the next checkpoints in your journey. You can access it anytime from your Cosma dashboard.

Are there any side effects?

+

Fertigen is built on biocompatible, GRAS-listed (Generally Recognized As Safe) excipients. Most users experience no side effects. Mild, transient sensations of warmth or local irritation can occur in rare cases. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if you experience persistent discomfort, itching, burning, or any unusual symptoms.

Can I use Fertigen if I have a vaginal infection?

+

No. Do not use Fertigen if you have an active vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis, sexually transmitted infections, etc.). Treat the infection first under medical supervision.

Can I use Fertigen during an IVF or IUI cycle?

+

If you are under active fertility treatment, please follow your fertility specialist's advice. Do not start Fertigen mid-cycle without checking with your treating doctor. supervision.

About testing

Do I need a fertility test before buying Fertigen?

+

Not strictly. Many couples in the early stages of trying to conceive simply use Fertigen alongside cycle tracking. However, if you have been trying for 12 months or more (6 months if you are over 35), or if your cycles are irregular, we strongly recommend a fertility assessment first — either our free FertiLens online assessment or a lab-based fertility panel.

What does the FertiLens assessment check?

+

FertiLens is a guided digital questionnaire covering your menstrual cycle, lifestyle, family history, BMI, partner factors, and fertility goals. At the end, you receive a personalized report with a recommended next step. It does not replace a medical test, but it does help you understand whether you should be reassured, watchful, or actively investigating.

Company

Is Fertigen approved by any regulator?

+

Yes. Fertigen is approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) of the Government of India as a Class B medical device under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017.

Is Fertigen 'natural' or 'Ayurvedic'?

+

Fertigen is a science-led, modern medical device. It is not positioned as Ayurvedic, herbal or traditional medicine. We respect those traditions, but Fertigen is a different kind of product, with a different regulatory pathway and a different evidence base.
